This patient had undergone 8 years of removable-appliance "treatment" by a dentist who was highly critical of fixed appliances. He had extracted the upper second molars shortly before the patient was transferred.

February 1985
The lower second bicuspids were removed and all four upper bicuspids were distalized into Class III relationships. This is the only case of thousands treated by the author in which second molars were extracted. A case of this severity can now be treated in less than 2 years.
