Minor changes in angulation which are sometimes necessary can be achieved by rotating the bracket on the tooth. Because of the size of the SPEED Bracket there is little sacrifice in intimacy of fit. Angulation: (+) Distal Root Tip In-Out SPEED is a fully pre-adjusted appliance. Each bracket has a specific base adapter which provides its corresponding tooth with both an angular and translational offset. The result - a more smoothly contoured finishing arch. The SPEED Mushroom Hook™ and SPEED Mini-Mushroom Hook™ The SPEED Mushroom Hook™ is a miniaturized integral hook. It is available on all SPEED Brackets. SPEED Micro-Retentive Mesh™ All SPEED attachments feature Micro-Retentive Mesh™ bonding bases. SPEED’s unique Micro-Retentive Mesh™ has been tested in large scale clinical studies since 1991. The results are a reduction in bond failures of 50%, and a 200% increase in bond strength in laboratory tests. SPEED Micro-Retentive Mesh™ bonding bases are dull in appearance but require no special bonding technique or adhesives. Remember when bonding SPEED attachments: Each bracket base is carefully contoured to precisely mirror the anatomy of its corresponding tooth. For this reason, SPEED attachments are not interchangeable. When bonding SPEED attachments, no special bonding technique or adhesive is required. SPEED attachments may be bonded using the direct or indirect technique with equal effectiveness.
